TEAM NEWS
We at SYNETIQ BMW head into the May Bank Holiday weekend happy in the knowledge that the opening two days’ of official BSB testing on Wednesday and Thursday at Silverstone are under our belt and we can now look forward to more of the same next week at Snetterton in Norfolk.
Our two new riders spent the test at Silverstone familiarising themselves with the characteristics of the SYNETIQ BMW full team set-up and race bikes, and as they have explained below – both are satisfied with the outcome. Stage 1 complete.
Danny Buchan:
“Overall we are leaving the first official BSB test happy. We evaluated a few different components to find out what suits me and how I ride. We managed to do this and still post competitive and consistent laps times. This is important because the bike is all-new to me and I need to get to understand the SYNETIQ BMW. First thoughts are, I’m impressed and can’t wait to explore the bike at different circuits, so we are prepared and ready to race for the whole season, not just one round.”
Andrew Irwin:
“I can look back positively on the first official BSB test with SYNETIQ BMW at Silverstone. The goal was to get myself comfortable on the bike and the team helped me do that. It’s the first time we have all worked together and the atmosphere in the garage was really good. It’s left us in a good place to move onto the next stage of pre-season development at Snetterton next week. The SYNETIQ BMW is already starting to feel like my bike, which is very important, so thanks to the boys for doing a great job all round.”
Philip Neill – Team Manager:
“It was good to get the whole crew all back together in and around our new riders for the season ahead. Silverstone was very much a case of blowing off the cobwebs and starting the evaluation process, which will continue at Snetterton and into the forthcoming additional BSB tests prior to round one. It’s been a positive start and the boys are happy, so job done for week one of the new season.”
