SYNETIQ BMW Motorrad’s Alastair Seeley continued his podium streak into round 3 of the National 1000cc Superstock class after a successful week on the roads, with a third place and a new class lap record at Donington Park onboard his M1000RR.
Danny Buchan returned after injury and despite a number of mechanical gremlins, took a top ten finish in the final race of three in the British Superbike class.
“Good steady start to the weekend on the SYNETIQ BMW M1000RR in practice and qualifying, and from our front row grid position I launched well off the line. The new surface gave plenty of grip and I settled down into the race and set a new lap record on lap two which shows the strength of the package. In the closing stages I was losing a little rear grip so I didn’t want to override and push on and end up with a DNF. We needed some points on the board and the third placed podium moved us up to sixth in the standings and sets us up well going forward, as it’s a long season. Thanks to the team for a big effort as it’s been a very busy couple of weeks.”

“A bit of a frustrating weekend but it was good to be back on my M1000RR Superbike. It was always going to be a difficult one with lack of bike time following the crash at Silverstone. Not the results we necessarily wanted, but we’ve identified a few areas where we need to improve and managed to get some solid laps in the final race. It’s only a couple of weeks until we go to one of my favourite tracks of the season, at Knockhill in Scotland. We need to push on and get into the business end of the results there, and start turning the corner with the season at round four. Thanks guys.”

“Alastair has taken his strong form from the NW200 into British championship and was consistent all weekend, but this round was about points and getting into the mix at the sharp end; that’s exactly what he did. It’s always nice to get into that winner’s enclosure and give our sponsors a good showing. Danny had a frustrating weekend and we need to look at that and make sure we come out strong collectively at Knockhill. It’s a long season but we need to get the big man back into the podium mix in Scotland and give his season the boost it needs. Thanks for the support from all our team partners this weekend who showed up in force at Donington Park.”
