Tyco BMW British Superbike rider Christian Iddon will make his Sunflower Trophy debut on October 22 at Bishopscourt Race Circuit with the Northern Ireland based team. The Sunflower is the end of season showpiece and over the years has been won by such names as Joey Dunlop, Steve Hislop and current World Superbike champion Jonathan Rea.
Speaking of the opportunity, Iddon said: “I’ve ridden the top half of the circuit with an added chicane and a dirt section in my Supermoto days. This time around I’ll not be aiming to ride on any of the dirt. The goal is to come and challenge for the Superbike wins and have a bit of fun, as it’s an event I’ve always wanted to race at.”
Team Manager Philip Neill said: “As long time supporters of the event and the promoting club, we are happy to be able to come back this year with Christian. As a newcomer to the circuit, track time will be crucial for him, so fingers crossed we get a dry day for practice. But he’s a capable lad and I’m sure he will do a good job for us and give both Buchan and Irwin and good run in the Superbike races.”
TAS Racing are five time winners of the Sunflower Trophy.
