William Dunlop will take in this weekend’s 55th Around-A-Pound Tandragee 100 Road Races on his S 1000 RR Superstock bike, which will give the Ballymoney rider additional track time prior to the upcoming Vauxhall International North West 200.
Dunlop finished fourth in last weekend’s feature race at the KDM Cookstown 100, but the technical layout of the 5.34-mile Tandragee 100 circuit will provide a stiffer test for Dunlop, which is just what he is looking for on the run up to an busy international campaign.
William Dunlop: “I’m a bit low on mileage so it will be good to get out at the Tandragee 100 this weekend on the Tyco BMW. Fourth sounds okay, but I wasn’t that happy with my results last weekend on the S 1000 RR, although in fairness, we only started to make progress in that last outing as I’d gone the wrong way with set-up. It was totally my own fault, and when I did finally listen to Philip, the chassis felt a lot better. It’ll give us something to try at Tandragee which in parts replicates the TT circuit, so it will be a worthwhile trip.”
Philip Neill – Team Manager: “It’s another opportunity for William to get some miles under his belt and also pleasing for Tyco BMW to support another local event, despite the majority of our staff at Oulton Park for round three of the British Superbike Championship. He’s a rider who thrives on confidence and whilst he’s enjoying riding the S 1000 RR, it will be good to give him more track time and allow him to acclimatise to the changes we have made.”
